This article assumes that you're comfortable and proficient with energy work, with casting and releasing circles, and that you have a basic understanding of astrological time.
If I could turn back time ---- Sure, we've all wanted to. How often have we groaned or face-palmed in dismay over missed opportunities?
The good news is, you can --- If you've missed a golden magical opportunity to create, for instance, a wealth spell, you can now recapture it, and do the spell under the best astrological circumstances.
The bad news (and you knew there had to be some, didn't you?) is twofold: you can only reset time for yourself, not for the world at large. Also, time only stays reset as long as the circle is up. When you release the circle, the magickal time reset goes, too. And no, you can't sidestep by leaving the circle up indefinitely.
Why can't I reset time for the whole world? For a couple of reasons: first, the reset only works inside the magickal circle, and lasts only as long as the circle is up. Second, although we're all connected to all other humans and lifeforms, and to the earth and sky, and beyond, we're also all individuals. Ultimately, we're all born separately from anyone else (yes, even twins --- your birth is your own birth, and your twin's birth is his/her own birth, not yours), we exist separately, and we die separately. Interconnected, yet separate. And we haven't even considered each individual's free will, which opens up a whole new can of worms.
So, life is like a bowl of cherries --- or lemons? No, life is like a pot of spaghetti. The pot is the world view of reality, the general consensus of the world as almost all the world's occupants agree to see it. For instance, pretty much everyone on Earth agrees that the U.S. Is made up of 50 states, that India is a sub-continent, and that people who live in Spain generally speak Spanish.
The sauce is observable reality, which is generally similar from one person to another, from the big earth-shaking events like world wars and climate change, but can be specific to one or more people, like a mosquito bites or a misplaced cellphone.
The strands of spaghetti are lives --- individual reality – human, animal, plants, insects, etc. They touch, intertwine, and tie in knots, but each one is separate and individual. Each life can only navigate forward and backward in time on its own strand of spaghetti. When you raise the magickal circle and turn the time back to the past, you affect only your own strand of spaghetti, your own individual reality.
So then, why would I want to change time? Because time reversal is ideal for recalling missed opportunities. If, for instance, you intended to do a prosperity spell in the day and hour of Jupiter, (Wednesday), but unforeseen situations kept you busy until Saturn's day (Saturday), you now have a choice; you can do the spell on the day of Saturn and the hour of Jupiter, you can wait until next Wednesday, or you can set time back, and do the work on the day and hour of Jupiter, as you originally planned. Considering that Saturn governs restriction and austerity, and Jupiter governs expansion and wealth, it would probably be an easy choice to make.
Okay, exactly how is it done? There are different ways, but the one that works best for me is the double circle; that is, one circle inside another.
The first circle, the outer circle, puts us between the worlds, where there is simultaneously All Time, Any Time and No Time. All three conditions exist at the Same Time.
Raise the outer circle according to your own custom.
Now erect an inner circle, in which we declare Time to be set at the Day and Hour of Jupiter.
Here's the spell I use to set up the inner circle:
I cast inside this circle round Another circle, here be found Earth and Water, Air and Fire, The date and time I do require
I set this circle to the Day of Jupiter, and the Hour of Jupiter, influenced by the Waxing Moon (or whatever day/time you want.)
Now call the Quarters, according to your own custom, then do the prosperity spell as you normally would. After you've finished, dismiss the inner circle, and then the outer one.
Dismiss the inner circle first:
I take this inner circle down, Release the time that I have bound, To travel its accustomed way, There is no karmic debt to pay.
Dismiss the Quarters according to your own custom.
Because the outer circle is still up, you are still Between the Worlds. Take down the outer circle according to your own custom.
Either silently or aloud acknowledge that you have now returned to mundane time in the mundane world, and declare that the ritual is ended.
Ground any excess power, and eat something.
That sounds like an awful lot of trouble. It depends on how much of a control freak you happen to be, and how picky you are. I'm pretty bad on both counts; also, I find that I need ceremony to focus my mind and intensify my will. For those reasons, this particular method works best for me.
Is there an easier way? Yes. One of my friends simply uses the imagination to set time to where it's needed, and then does the spell. I suggest you try both ways, and see which works best for you.
Can I set time forward? Yes, but that's a whole different subject.
